Exhibition Overview

The global industrial automation market is experiencing rapid growth. According to industry projections, the global factory automation and industrial control market is expected to grow from US$318.61 billion in 2025 to US$727.03 billion by 2034, representing a CAGR of 9.6%.As the world’s manufacturing hub, China has strong and growing demand for industrial automation. In the first half of 2026, China’s manufacturing investment increased 7.5% year on year, with strong growth in lithium batteries, electronics and semiconductors, industrial robotics, logistics automation, and other sectors. In April 2026, Hangzhou introduced its “135N” development framework, for the first time setting a clear target to cultivate more than 50 AI-powered factories, benchmarked against the national levels of Basic, Advanced, Excellence, and Leading Smart Factories. With nearly 7,500 above-designated-size industrial enterprises and 28 companies ranked among China’s Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises, Hangzhou has advanced from machine replacement and enterprise cloud adoption to the development of future factories. As one of China’s first pilot cities for the digital transformation of SMEs, Hangzhou ranked No. 1 nationwide in its final performance evaluation, with 586 enterprises and 640 digital transformation projects completed and assessed.Hangzhou’s electronic information manufacturing industry is also expanding rapidly, with industrial value added increasing 14.8% year on year in the first half of 2026. Qiantang District is home to more than 140 integrated circuit companies, with the industry exceeding RMB 80 billion in scale, while Binjiang District ranks No. 1 in Zhejiang Province in integrated circuit industry scale. The concurrent staging of the Electronic Information Manufacturing Expo and the Smart Factory & Industrial Automation Expo will create a powerful platform for cross-industry collaboration, enabling the two sectors to reinforce one another, accelerate technological integration, and drive coordinated industrial upgrading.

New Opportunities

To support China’s strategies for becoming a manufacturing powerhouse and advancing Digital China, while aligning with Zhejiang’s “415X” industrial clusters and Hangzhou’s AI Factory Initiative, Golden Conference & Exhibition Group will host the 2027 Hangzhou International Smart Factory & Industrial Automation Expo from May 27–29, 2027, at Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center, concurrently with the 2027 Hangzhou International Electronic Information Manufacturing Expo.Under the theme “Smart Manufacturing in Hangzhou · Connecting the Future”, the two exhibitions will adopt an innovative dual-expo synergy model. The main expo will focus on smart factories and core industrial automation technologies, while the concurrent expo will cover the electronic information manufacturing value chain, including integrated circuits, electronic components, SMT equipment, and electronic materials.Together, the two expos will create a complete industrial loop covering “Chips & Components → Automation Equipment & Systems → Smart Factory Applications”, connecting the entire value chain from manufacturing equipment and technologies to the products manufactured in smart factories. The exhibitions will showcase the latest achievements in digital and intelligent transformation across the Yangtze River Delta manufacturing sector, bringing together advanced technologies and solutions in industrial robotics, automation components, Industrial Internet, digital twins, smart warehousing and logistics, AI-powered inspection, and more.By integrating technologies, products, and application scenarios, the dual-expo platform will provide manufacturers with a one-stop sourcing and procurement platform covering the full journey from individual process automation to intelligent transformation of entire factories.
